Welcome

You can expect to find a friendly, come-as-you-are welcome from folks at First Christian Barbourville. You also will find a mix of people who are seeking to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ; to worship in ways that blend the past with the present; to share God’s love through service to neighbors in our community; and, to find ways to bear witness to God’s grace in their lives.

We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We embrace our denomination's identity: "We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ we welcome all to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us."

Our Confession

As members of the Christian Church, we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world.

Our Mission

To go to all peoples and to make them Jesus’ disciples, to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and to teach them to obey everything Christ commanded. (Matthew 28:19-20)
